Fyns Stiftstidende

This is a photo of the offices of newspaper, Fyns Stiftstidende. I took a photo of it, because it has a really cool screen on the front of the building (the blue one you see in the picture) which tells you the time, the current temperature, the current news and a couple advertisements. This all loops all day, every day. I don't even think they turn it off at night :O

It is an interesting photograph. I like the sign idea too.

Our newspapers in the United States are in deep trouble as more and more people stop reading newspapers in favor of getting their news on the Internet.

I was wondering if it is this way in your country?

Thank you for your past visits to my blog.

Oh no, not at ALL! Danes LOVE to read newspapers. On the buses and at the train stations, they always have bundles of free newspapers that passengers can take - and believe me, they do! Usually by lunchtime, the bundles are gone. Danes use newspapers as their primary source of information, not the internet.

My boyfriend (who, as I think I've mentioned before, is Danish) is so bad with his love of reading news papers that when the mail comes (newspapers are delivered right to your door - you don't even have to order them and you can get, like, 3 different ones a day - along with a bevy of advertisements) he'll start reading them straight away that he actually forgets to eat breakfast. He'll just sit there reading all the newspapers - AND the ads! I always have to pull them away from him and remind him that he needs to eat lol.

And it's not just older people (well, he's only 20) - children read newspapers as well. Often when I'm on buses at the same time as school children, I notice they take whatever newspapers are left and talk about them with their friends :)

Newspapers are still very much alive in Denmark.
