He-She Statue |
This is a statue that is a cross between a male and female (it has male genitals plus about 3 pairs of breasts, as far as I can remember). It lays outside the town hall in the open square area and everytime I go there, there's ALWAYS little kids climbing all over it; they love it. It's not too high off the ground and relatively easy to climb. Plus it looks pretty cool.
You can get another perspective of it on Odense's webcam at Fyn.dk. On the right hand side, under the Fiona Bank ad, it clearly says "WebCams". Click on "Flakhaven" and it will show you the large square where the statue is lying down, from the perspective of the Town Hall :)
You can also take a look at other areas of Odense. But don't click on anything that says Svendborg, because that's another part of Fyn (the island that Odense is on) altogether! |

Cool shot of kids climbing all over multiple pairs of breasts....I suppose only in DK, eh? I'm from New York originally, and kids or tourists are always climbing all over the Wall Street bronze Bull.
Thanks for the reply and the Danish phrase WITH pronunciation! It's embarrassing because I lived on Amager for half a year back in '05. I was taking a a few architecture classes for college just off Nytorv in CPH, and I can't tell you how much I miss Danmark. It was so incredible being there.
You have a great blog, I look forward to your next posts!

Hello Odense! :)
I just started up Oslo Daily Photo, it's cool to find other blogs from Scandinavia.
And this statue seems like a lot of fun! I guess the kids who climb it don't care about the three breasts... hehe... :)
Greetings from Oslo

Very nice photograph. I like it and your narrative.

If this was in England, there would be a three-foot fence round it to stop anyone get near it!

Thank you all for your lovely comments. It's so nice to have people enjoy this blog! I really love taking pictures for it.
Mandy: SO true. Plus atleast three signs warning people to stay off and tat 'those who don't will be severley prosecuted' :P That always annoyed me about England... warning signs EVERYWHERE. Oh, and don't forget the CCTVs!
Abraham Lincoln: Thank you so much! You are by far my most dedicated commenter :)
Oslo: Welcome! I'll be sure to stop by your blog very soon and leave you a comment, too :D
James: No problem about the Danish phrase, but I realised I tapped a wrong key and spelt "hvordan" wrong (the spelling there is correct). But I typed the pronounciation right :)
You should come back to Denmark! It's a very unique country and it's way of life can be very addicting.
